I was guest-hostessing tonight at work and three people came up to me, said they were a party of three and I grabbed the menus and suggested, with a smile "follow me, please" and they sit down, and the eldest man says "We would've preferred it if you said 'right this way' but do what you want'."
Okay, this guy is just being a dick, I said to myself. But who the FUCK is mean to a hostess? THey don't DO anything. I give you menus, I say a fragment of a sentence to you and that's it. What, do you have a goal of which you must reach per day as to how many douche-bag things you say? Being mean to a hostess is like being mean to a cancer patient; they are already in a terminally awful position, must you make it worse?

I'm really getting sick of in-person conversation.
Yanno, unless I like you, I've noticed I really HATE when people make conversation with me. I don't like conversation. I don't really like talking to anybody. In the work setting I don't mind, or when in public places, but I hate personalized one-on-one 'chit' chat. I really don't like when people express their opinions without me asking for them, or when they randomly start saying things about me, my lifestyle, or anything else. I just don't enjoy "chit chat" in general. I don't like shooting the shit or for-the-sake-of-conversation talks. Online, sure. I can say any damn random thing I want. But in person I've noticed my social skills are awful. I don't care about what they have to say, and I don't care to respond, either. Text me or something so I can say I didn't get it, but PLEASE don't make me actually speak to you. Gaaaahd.

In the words of Pulp Fiction Uma: "That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence."

When will this week be over so I can pay rent and not care about picking up cancer patient shifts.

I got up at 10 to take Kyle to work and I thought it would be silly to go back to sleep, so here I am, early bird.

In case you were wondering, these are banana nut chocolate chip (aka the third butt cheek I will soon inherit from these)

They are enormous! and quite delicious. It's a shame I have nobody to share them with, Kyle doesn't eat nuts so these will probably sit. Oh how I love baking.

Soon to come: thick chocolate chip pancakes with powdered sugar (boyfriend eats them like they're going out of style), croissants, blueberry muffins, and banana pudding.

So I just took a nap and had a dream that my wisdom teeth caused me to lose 3 teeth. They fell out, bled everywhere, and they put in temp-fake teeth. In was very vivid. I remember when blood started pouring out of my mouth I wiped my mouth and it was just me massively drooling, but then I fell back asleep and it resumed. It was awful.

I've decided my maternal role in life. Instead of children, who are loud, annoying, expensive, and talk back to you, I've decided to dedicate my "womb" to domestic animals.

Sure, dogs and cats are loud, annoying, and expensive BUT they love you no matter if you blow your nose and look at your tissue too long, or if you eat tons of chocolate every night. They listen to your bullshit no matter what. They love when you come home, and they are always one price (unless they experience some sort of disease). They don't ask for money, or slam doors in your face, they don't leave home, and expect you to pay $50,000 for their education. Nope, these animals don't require education, just attention, love, a full water/food bowl, and a warm bed. I'll give that to you, my furry friends.

We have one cat at the moment. Kyle wants to get another kitten once we move out, and I'm even thinking of getting another one too. They are nice companions. We also want dogs. Now, Kyle doesn't want a dog until we have a yard, but I plan on living in biggish cities the rest of my life, so Fido is just going to have to deal with not having a huge yard, but to compensate I want to walk him everywhere and make sure he gets tons of exercise and park playmates. I'm really bent out of shape about getting a puppy maybe within the next year. Who knows, maybe we'll agree to disagree.

Although not celebrated in the USA (just Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam, ahem) today is International Women's Day.

So, here's to you, my estrogen filled friends.

I think to celebrate this event I am going to buy a box of chocolate cupcakes, maybe some other fattening food, then sit on my couch and watch the rest of season six of Sex and the City.

I belong to 50bookchallenge and I'm doing terribly. The jist is to basically read 50 books, or howmany you want, in a year. It's really easy but not when you sit on the internet all day and don't even glance at your bookshelf once.

I really love purchasing books opposed to 'renting' them, so I plan to own and read these books this year.
(there aren't 50 of them, just a few I know I want to read.)

Oh bee tee double-u, I got a neat job at a record label. Just the lonely receptionist, but it's an automatic in into the music industry. They manage small indie bands, one from the UK.
I book things, set up meetings, make sure the bands are set up for the night, all of that crap. It'll be job number three if things work out, so I'll be a busy gal.
